THE BEAUTY BANGERS
Did you know that most of our everyday beauty products are full of nasty synthetic chemicals which are doing more harm than good?
Many petrochemicals in conventional cosmetics are toxic pollutants and degrade the environment as well as our bodies. As we become more ecologically aware, consumers are demanding natural, low-polluting products.
Additionally, the beauty industry creates 120 billion units of packaging every year. More often than not, this packaging is made from plastic. Making the industry a big offender of plastic waste pollution.
So without further ado, here are some of the beauty brands we love that are doing it differently…..
PHB ETHICAL BEAUTY
PHB Ethical Beauty is a British family business with a revolutionary range of award winning ethical beauty products. They are home to the world’s largest range of natural, vegan, cruelty free & alcohol free beauty products.
All their products are handmade in the UK and of course don’t test on animals.
For all you sensitive skin people out there the products are so pure they make great Natural Remedies for Sensitive Skin and conditions such as eczema, psoriasis & acne!
Not only do they make amazing products but they also use eco-friendly packaging that has been recycled and reused from past consumers. Much of the packaging is 100% recyclable, including aluminium lids, PET bottles and glass jars.
And a big well done for giving 20% of Net profits to charity. We love how much PHB Ethical Beauty are striving for change.
Keep it up guys!
REN CLEAN SKINCARE
Next up on our beauty brands we love list is REN Clean Skincare!
RENs mission is to give people visible results from skincare that isn’t full of shady ingredients. Ingredients that work with your skin, without causing irritation and that are from sustainable sources and are sustainably packaged.
What we love the most about these guys is their packaging!
Bottles made with Ocean Plastic, tubes made from post-consumer recycled plastic and designed for circular recycling. They package their products with the planet in mind and team up with partners like Surfers Against Sewage and Plastic Patrol that share the same vision of sustainability.
We love that REN are Pledging to become Zero Waste by 2021, in that all of their packaging will be 100% recycled, recyclable and reusable.
BEAUTY KITCHEN
Beauty Kitchen is on a mission to create the most effective, natural and sustainable beauty products in the world.
And they have pioneered a RETURN – REFILL – REPEAT programme, where they wash and reuse their packaging which is even better than recycling.
This amazing sustainable brand was started by Jo and her husband in 2014 when she struggled to find natural and sustainable beauty products that really worked.
They believe that beauty products should be cruelty free. And are proudly Leaping Bunny approved, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. The global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.
Beauty Kitchen design with full circle sustainability in mind, across absolutely everything they do and always have done since the very beginning of Beauty Kitchen.
For the brand, transparency and understanding for all is the key to making sustainability the norm, and will be the driving force behind changing how society works for the better. By striving to be the most sustainable business in the world and in turn, encourage others to strive for the same.
Beauty Kitchens enthusiasm to be sustainable is what we want to see more brands doing!
UPCIRCLE
UpCircles’ mission is to leave the world better than they found it by transforming ingredients that would otherwise be discarded into natural, organic beauty products – better for you, better for the world. What more could you want!
Creating a positive environmental impact is what UpCircle does. Wanting to leave the world better than they found it. At UpCircle, they try to focus on positive change and keep an “every little helps” mentality.
And as well as being 100% natural, their skincare range is also 100% brilliant.
With UpCircle, you get to enjoy the uplifting benefits of nature’s own skin rejuvenators and do the planet some good, too.
Back in 2015, UpCircle realized that we’re throwing away a cafetière full of coffee grounds every morning and how much is going to waste from coffee shops all over London. So they decided to do something about it. So UpCircle was born.
